Madison City is Hiring a Transit Information Systems Coordinator Near Madison, WI

Metro is seeking a strong leader to steer and supervise Metro's on-bus technology team to ensure seamless integration of technological systems and software, continuous improvement of processes, and advance Metro's capacity and capability to meet the changing needs of service delivery. Administer processes to manage, hire, coach, and discipline staff as needed
Monitor, assign, and redistribute tasks
Develop policies and procedures for the Information Systems unit
Participate in and contribute to Metro's Senior Management Team
Develop regular reports to document status and progress
Foster positive staff morale and engagement
Develop process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
Project Management
Foster and maintain relationships and open communication with other Metro units, City of Madison Information Technology staff, and external organizations
Manage and implement new technology projects and feature implementations
Provide or monitor project documentation
Proactively monitor and test existing Metro systems to ensure full functionality
Research IT products and trends in the transportation industry
Identify new opportunities to improve organizational efficiency and/or quality
Perform related work as required
Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the transportation or information technology field with a focus on staff and technology project management, at least two (2) years of which must be as a team lead which involved staff oversight, leadership, or supervision
OR
An Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, engineering, planning or other related field may be substituted for two (2) or four (4) years of experience respectively, but at least two (2) years of professional related experience must be as a technology team lead which involved staff oversight, leadership, or supervision

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Employee must spend sustained amounts of time standing/sitting looking at a computer and using other standard office equipment such as telephones and copiers/printers/fax machines. Employee may need to bend, twist, climb, and exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift or relocate equipment. Employee may need to access various areas of Metro's facilities, including stairs, garages, BRT stations, other work areas or enter buses to open access cabinets and test or check technology projects or equipment. Employee may occasionally need to attend meetings off site and outside of core work hours. This is not a remote work position. Employee must work on site.
