Innovation Montessori Ocoee is Hiring an Elementary Teacher (K-3),(K-6) Near Ocoee, FL
Innovation Montessori Ocoee, founded in 2011, is an OCPS charter school, set on 18 beautiful acres in Ocoee, Central Florida. Our school serves approximately 900 children from preschool through high school.
State of Florida teacher certification for K-6/K-3/SOE is required. Montessori Lower Elementary and/or Upper Elementary experience/certification is preferred but not required. Teachers who join us without Montessori certification must commit to beginning elementary training within twelve months of hire.
Candidates should have knowledge of Montessori philosophy, and able to support a joyful, child-centered learning environment. Our large and bright classroom suites are shared by two classes of children, with two teachers and one teacher's assistant. Elementary teachers are enlightened generalists, teaching all subjects to their own roster of students. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a co-operative environment. Our school uses restorative justice and places a great emphasis on whole child education and community.
Qualifications and Skills:
Current Florida state K-6 or K-3 teaching certification is required. Montessori certification preferred but not required immediately. Commencement of Montessori training within 12 months of hire is required for teachers not possessing certification at time of hire.
Pay is commensurate with OCPS. We do not participate in FRS but do have contributory retirement savings options.
