As a Network Engineer:
General Description

The Network Engineer 2 is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing network solutions for the customers to ensure maximum uptime. The role includes designing system configurations, documenting and managing the pre-installation and testing of a new network and performs upgrades to hardware and software as required. The knowledge of or desire to learn about servers, virtualization, windows domain, and/or SQL is a major bonus.

Must be able to Obtain a DHS Clearance (Public Trust)
MUST HAVES:

1. VXLAN Experience.
2. Write Configuration
3. Write Scripts
4. BGP Protocol

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain networking equipment such as switches and routers
• Originate design documents for large networks
• Create Design documentation including Narrative Design Documents, Systems Designs, Network Block Diagrams, Preparation of Specifications
• Perform QA/QC and technical reviews of designs
• Implementing and creating network designs using data center networking fundamentals (experience with VXLAN is a must)

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in Electrical, IT, or Computer engineering or related fields
• Experience with networking protocols, such as OSPF, BGP, RIP. Knowledge of VXLAN is a must.
• Experience using Standard Network Software (Visio, Wireshark, Putty, CLI, etc)
• Advanced knowledge of network concepts, technologies, tools and philosophies, and the ability to design an organization's network infrastructure and services.
• Must be able to obtain a DHS Clearance; EOD (Public Trust)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with a master's degree in engineering or IT field
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or CCNA
• VCP - VMware Certified Professional or VCA - VMware Certified Associate
• MCSA or MCSE - Microsoft cert
• Experience with Physical Security Systems - Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, and CCTV
• Experience with the following core platforms and services or a strong desire to learn:
• VMware ESXi and vSphere
• Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2019 Deployment and Administration
• Microsoft Windows 10 Deployment and Administration
• DNS, DFS, and DHCP
• Active Directory and defining, implementing, and maintaining Group Policy
• Data center storage fundamentals (experience with SAN protocols and NAS protocols)

• Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.

Pay Range*: $90k - $95K per year
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
