InMotion US is Hiring a Shipping Receiving Associate Near Blacksburg, VA

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

This person will be responsible for making material receipts including unloading arriving trucks, making proper transactions in SAP and properly storing materials in the warehouse location. Selected candidate will verify incoming / outgoing shipments and keep appropriate records. This person will prepare product for shipment and make any appropriate transactions and administrative activities to support the shipment. Other responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, dock and shipping / receiving area. This person will be primarily responsible for material receipts but will back up any other activities that fall within the scope of the shipping and receiving area. Finally, this person will support the overall management of our inventory system including the performance of material cycle counts and physical inventories and will make appropriate moves of materials both physically and with appropriate transactions to support production needs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Along with those identified above, other duties may be assigned.

Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas
Operate PB crimp tools, including diagnosis, repair and processing
Operate stretch wrap banders
Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages; Receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Perform all computer functions necessary to track various suspects of goods
Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production / storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base
Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order, which is conveyed by final inspection via the shipping instructions
Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NECESSARY:

Organized
Self-motivated
Proven ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
Able to manage multiple and competing priorities
Proven ability to communicate across all levels of the organization – written and verbal
Proficient with technology and capable of learning multiple software
Experience with MS Office
Prior experience with MRP systems, SAP preferred
Must be willing to become a licensed forklift operator

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma required
2 years of experience in shipping and receiving in a production environment required
Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
MRP system experience, preference for SAP
