Reports To: Store Manager
General Purpose of Position: Cashiers are responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations and safeguarding assets. INJOY THRIFT STORES with a mission is a project initiated by Christian businessmen and women with a goal of supporting local and international Christian ministries. One hundred percent of the income from the sale of products at InJoy Thrift Stores, after normal stores expenses are paid, goes to support and fund Christian ministries in your community and throughout the world.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product pricing knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.
- Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and accurately maintain all cash and media at the registers.
- Communicate customer requests to management.
- Maintain orderly appearance of register area and supplies stocked.
- Monitor and improve the overall appearance of the retail floor.
- Ability to process information/merchandise through register system Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
- Commitment to the faith-based mission of InJoy.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods.
- Physical ability to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Perform all functions as set forth above.
- Ability to work some Saturdays.
- Willing to have a background check done.
