Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project initiation, planning, execution, and closure
- Coordinate with agency business and IT staff to ensure compliance with standards
- Develop comprehensive project plans tailored to meet objectives and organizational goals
- Manage project resources and track progress
- Provide reports to agency leadership
- Support the Project Management Office in portfolio management
- Maintain project management tools
- Craft and refine project plans, schedules, and communication strategies
- Implement and oversee project-specific tools like MS Project and SharePoint
- Assess project plans against established architectural standards and policies
- Offer strategic oversight and guidance to business and IT managers
- Monitor project progress against timeline and budget
- Proactively address deviations and resolve issues and risks
- Contribute to the broader goals of the PMO through active participation in portfolio management
- Enhance project management practices and ensure effective communication with stakeholders
- Proficiency in project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure techniques
- Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving capabilities
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Strong leadership abilities to influence project outcomes positively
- Ability to negotiate and manage vendor contracts effectively
- Adapt plans in response to evolving project needs or unexpected challenges
- Experience in IT project management
Experience required: Degree and three years experience with IT related project management or five years experience with IT related project management. Additional experience in IT project management may be substituted for the required education.
