Water Resources Project Manager

About Us: Join our client, an established civil engineering firm committed to delivering innovative solutions in water resources management. We're seeking an experienced Water Resources Project Manager to lead project management, business development, quality control, and mentorship initiatives. Role Summary: As a Water Resources Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing project management, coordinating design tasks, fostering business development opportunities, and mentoring junior staff members. Your extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly in water resources management, will drive the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management & Coordination: Review and approve design drawings, identify potential design problems, and coordinate solutions with the design team. Attend and lead project meetings with clients and local approving agencies.
  2. Quality Control: Ensure appropriate QA/QC procedures are followed on final design drawings. Respond promptly to construction-related issues and coordinate with construction services and company management as needed.
  3. Business Development: Establish and maintain relationships with new prospects and existing clients. Serve as the principal client contact when necessary. Advise company principals on actions, schedules, and prospects.
  4. Mentorship: Provide hands-on assistance and mentorship to junior staff members, guiding them in design elements, oral and written communication skills, and project management techniques.

Skills:

  • Civil Engineering: Expertise in civil engineering principles and practices, with a focus on water resources management.
  • Water Resources: Strong technical knowledge in hydrology, stormwater management, hydraulics, and drainage design.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of successful project management, from initiation to completion.
  • Business Development: Ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities, fostering long-lasting client relationships.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM, HY-8, and other water resource design software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university. Professional Engineer license required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering design projects, with a focus on stormwater and water resources management.
  • Management Skills: Capable of managing projects in a fast-paced environment while fostering strong relationships with co-workers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of water resource design and engineering techniques in accordance with current local public agencies, DOT, and USACE standards.
