CONTROLLER –Chattanooga, TN based industrial repair and metal finishing company seeks controller to perform and manage all accounting activities and human resources. Responsibilities will include month-end closing, financial and governmental reporting, payroll, annual audit, bank relationships, recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, and corporate insurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze performance of financial results, business drivers, and operational metrics. Derive forward-looking insights to drive management decision, actions, and improve operational and financial results. Communicate risks and opportunities.
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure proper documentation and adequate funding of accruals through individual account analysis and research of individual transactions.
• Coordinate and execute month-end closing activities including the completion of all needed journal entries, maintain accuracy of general ledger.
• Lead and prepare annual profit plan process for the company. Develop budget including establishment of variance reports and completion of special projects.
• Perform Accounts Payable and Receivable functions including invoice entry, check processing, billing, collection calls, etc…
• Ensure Inventory accuracy and control, Conduct monthly and annual physical inventory.
• Complete reporting requirements for company and government authorities as required.
• Ensure that all business related activities are conducted within the guidelines of company financial policies and procedures.
• Adhere to and comply with all ISO standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Manage hiring, training, and development of office staff.
• Administer all aspects of human resources, including hiring process, benefits administration, and policy enforcement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

• Manufacturing industry and cost accounting experience.
• Technical capability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and operations data/reports.
• Superior analytical and thinking skills; intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
• Management experience required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and analysis.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• Successful drug screening and background check.
