Position Summary
Gift associates provide customized service to provide customers an amazing experience every time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Initiate conversation, present products with enthusiasm and ask open-ended questions to determine customer needs
● Answer questions about merchandise and outline features and benefits with accuracy
● Accurately advise the customer on use/care of the merchandise
● Utilize add-on selling, cross-selling, and merchandise upgrading techniques to maximize sales
● Merchandising gift products
● Receiving and maintaining stock
● Keeping shelves/displays organized and clean
● Maintain an awareness of potential shoplifters and report any theft to management
● Assist cashiers as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred
● Minimum of 6 months-1 year of retail experience preferred
● Technically proficient in computer systems including related software
● Take initiative, assume responsibility, and execute thoroughly
● Interact with staff at all levels of the company
Work Environment/Physical Demands
• Standing/walking for long periods of time
• Climbing ladders several times during a shift
• Lifting/adjusting/moving objects of up to 75lbs
Reports to: Gift Department Manager
Direct Reports: None
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
High School or GED equivalent
Cashier experience preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
Standing, walking, bending for at least 7-8 hours per shift
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Ability to climb ladders
