We are a New York City-based industry leader in affordable Luxury Home textiles in North America and globally. We are looking for a self-motivated, Design Director who can bring their vision to our product line and is not afraid of working hard to achieve their goals.

As the Design Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design process and leading a team of designers. Your creative vision and leadership skills will be instrumental in driving the success of our design projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

• Develop and implement design strategies that align with the company's goals and objective
• Lead and manage a team of designers, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality work that meets Sales targets.
• Direct collaboration with the customer. Create Mood boards, presentation boards, Style outs and Production approvals. Collaborates with Customers to create design and presentations based on their direction.
• Leads preparation for seasonal presentations and meets all calendar deadlines and milestones while working with the team to execute.
• Conceptualize, create and manage updates for sketches, cads, design boards, and line production.
• Partners with the other teams design director to ensure synergy in design and product development.
• Collaborates cross-functionally with the Merchandising team to manage the tech packs and maintain style quality assurance.
• Collaborates with vendors, and internal sourcing team on bringing newness to product development and meet costing requirement.
• Reviews production samples and works closely with packaging to execute the brands vision and photography.
• Seeks innovation through market research, fabric innovation and on-line research.
• Expected to travel to customer meetings, trade fairs, and for research.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

• 10 years design experience in Home Textiles with specific focus on Bedding
• Familiarity textiles, construction, fabrications, and treatments
• Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe experience a must.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in design

Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Design or related field
- Proven experience as a Design Director or similar role
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise across various mediums
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for aesthetics
