A fast-paced specialty physician practice located on the south side of Indianapolis is recruiting for a full time Medical Assistant to work Monday through Friday on site. This position is responsible for rooming patients and performing the initial clinical assessment by taking the patient's vital signs and entering their current medications in the EMR system. The job also entails preparing the exam rooms prior to each patient's visit with the doctor, NP or PA and monitoring the patients while they wait to be seen. The MA also escorts the patients to the Check-Out area. During downtime, the MA also assists the Triage Department take incoming phone calls from patients. The MA will also cross-train to cover in the outreach clinics when needed.
This position requires a graduate of a Medical Assistant program, knowledge of medical terminology and strong computer experience. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills when dealing with patients, physicians and other personnel. Two-three years of prior Medical Assisting experience in a high volume physician office is preferred.
