Description

SUMMARY

Assists the Human Resource Manager in carrying out all company polices and procedures. Serves as liaison to team members and represents IAF.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Employee relations – includes spending time on the floor getting to know team members.
  2. Plans and participates in new hire orientation.
  3. Organizes, plans and facilitates meetings with leadership covering a variety of topics.
  4. Change agent for facility.
  5. Manages onboarding process for salary staff.
  6. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
  7. Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  8. Keeps records of insurance coverage and personnel transactions such as hiring, promotion, transfer, performance reviews, attendance issues, and termination.
  9. Administers and keeps records as needed for workers compensation, short-term disability, family medical leave act, and other legal or benefit commitments.
  10. Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  11. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  12. Administers compensations program; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  13. Handles employee relations counseling, stay interviews, and exit interviews.
  14. Prepares management reports as requested, i.e.; discipline, overtime, employee count, county of residence, etc.
  15. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  16. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  17. Conducts a variety of investigations.
  18. Represents company at unemployment hearings, and other community and business related functions.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree and 7 to 10 years’ related experience and/or training. PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Fluent in English. Japanese as a second language is helpful.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member is occasionally required to stand and use hands, walk, bend, lift, or twist. The team member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The team member must be able to lift a container of fasteners weighting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
