What You'll Do:

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience OR six years of direct experience.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction, the Student Experience Coordinator is responsible for student onboarding and integration experiences at IRSC. Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs and activities designed to promote first year students’ successful acclimation and integration at IRSC. Responsible for developing and coordinating all components of first year and transition programs to assist in improving student sense of belonging, retention and persistence to degree.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student Transition Coordinator 45%

  • Collaborates with campus stakeholders in the development and implementation of student onboarding programming to aid in the transition to IRSC campuses and supports their success, sense of belonging and retention.
  • Coordinates communication campaign for new student support and integration into campus community. Assists with the coordination and administration of co-curricular activities associated with first year and transition programs.
  • In collaboration across student success division assists with the development of strategies that engage new students and integrate them into the campus community through continuous connection to campus resources.
  • Collects data and prepare reports to provide feedback on the overall effectiveness of first-year and transition programs.
  • Assists with data collection and analysis for the assessment of first year and transition programs. Gathers and organizes data on student success.
  • Collaborates with recruitment to attend recruitment events and speak with prospective students and families about first year experience and transition program opportunities.
  • Selects, trains, and supervises student peer mentors for first year and transition programs.
  • Develops marketing materials to promote first year and transitional programs for student success.

Student Programming & Events 45%

  • Aligns learning outcomes with Student Success Division.
  • In collaboration with staff across the Office of Student Life and Student Success Division, develops learning outcomes, plan, coordinate events and programming for students to enrich the student experience.
  • Co-host resource fairs and information sessions with Student Success Division.
  • Coordinates holistic engagement connecting academic and non-academic support and resources. Co-host workshops with academic departments and Student Affairs partners to build on knowledge introduced at orientation.
  • Tracks activities and evaluates effectiveness and recommends outreach changes and improvements.
  • Tracks Budget for Expenditures.
  • Develops a communication strategy to advertise programming. Collaborates on marketing materials using different communication mediums to advertise opportunities to students.
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned 10%

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or six (6) years of direct experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a college/university setting
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks under deadline
  • Experience building campus and external partnerships
  • Experience working with students transitioning to college
  • Experience with assessment and applying data to strategies and program development
  • Program Specialty: Experience coordinating activities related to student life, event planning, or other closely related experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with varying deadlines.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license by time of hire.
