    Description:
    Perform functions to assess, counsel, and assist students and families in improving academic, social and behavorial needs and deficiencies. This is for 2023-2024 school year.
    Job Summary:
    1. Assess the academic, behavioral and emotional needs of students using formal and informal testing instruments. Conduct observations of students in classroom and at play, review school records, consult with parents and school personnel, administer assessments and interpret diagnostic findings.
    2. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to analyze problems and develop appropriate interventions.
    3. Work collaboratively with social worker to counsel students individually or in groups to enhance social/ emotional growth and facilitate peer relationships.
    4. Collaborate with Teachers, Teacher Assistants and other specialists to discuss individual student's modifications or adaptations, ongoing learning issues, interventions or problems. Work collaboratively to evaluate the efficacy of interventions.
    5. Actively participate on problem solving and intervention teams to facilitate early intervention to learning or behavioral problems.
    6. Serve as liaison between student, home, school, and community resources referring families to available services.
    7. Complete required documentation and data collection necessary for IEP reports and, goals.
    8. Participate or facilitate meetings or activities related to school wide planning as necessary.
    9. Help establish a safe atmosphere conducive to a positive learning environment. Act as role model on appropriate behaviors ensuring academic, social and emotional development is progressing normally.
    10. Enforce and support school policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents.
    11. Participate in or lead staff development and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth. Plan and incorporate best practices or new evidence-based strategies.
    12. Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses or conferences.
    Perform other related duties as assigned.
    Qualifications: The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsment in School Psychology. Candidate with experience in RtI practices preferred.
    Working Conditions: School setting.
    Rate of pay: Commensurate with education and experience
    Selection Procedure: Qualified candidates will be contacted by the appropriate building administrator.
