Category Manager, Building Envelope
INDEVCO Building Products, a division of INDEVCO North America, produces energy-efficient building envelope products across four facilities in Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Virginia. Our Barricade® brand and Perma R® brand portfolios deliver the highest levels of weather-resistant barrier performance.
Our division innovates, develops, and delivers world-class building materials, including residential and commercial Building Wraps; Rigid Foam Insulation Panels for exterior, interior, and below-grade applications; lightweight Structural Sheathing and Structural Insulated Board; Synthetic Roofing Underlayment; Flashings; and Construction Seam Tape.

How you will perform the role
The Category Manager, Building Envelope is responsible for product planning and execution over the entire product lifecycle and roadmap for all plant locations. S/he manages new products from concept to design, taking into consideration trends, competition, target industries, pricing, and our manufacturing capabilities to meet customers’ needs. S/he works to achieve sales growth for new and existing products in line with the company’s growth and sustainability strategies aligning all involved departments, including R&D, engineering / technical, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and customer service.

Job Responsibilities
  • Defines the category strategy and roadmap, ensuring a differentiated vision that delivers unique value based on customer demand
  • Delivers Market and Product Requirements with prioritized features and corresponding justifications, and analyzes the competition
  • Manages products from concept to design, sample production, trials, forecast, cost, pricing, production, promotion, support, and product end of life
  • Manages the release process and all activities required to bring new features and functionality to market
  • Delivers the Annual Operating Plan: achievement of growth objectives, including market share, revenue, profit, and return on investment for business and key customers
  • Manages product flow in conjunction with Supply Chain and operations to optimize asset utilization and product mix
  • Makes difficult trade-off decisions based on the value a new feature will deliver to customers and the business
  • Ensures product compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Implements market-related activities through research, strategic planning, and implementation
  • Coordinates with Sales to meet customers, support customer qualification of new products, and participate in trade shows to drive growth and keep up with product trends, consumer influences and competitive challenges
  • Works with Marketing to brand and promote product lines, supplies product insights, key differentiators, messaging, and sustainability value propositions for inclusion in product integrated communications
  • Works with external third parties to assess partnerships
  • Briefs and trains Sales, Product Development, Technical and other team members at regularly scheduled meetings

Education, Experience, Attributes
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Science
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing, product management, or marketing
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to lead scaling of new processes and products from prototype to commercialization
  • Strong analytical thought process for analyzing market and product wants and needs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills essential
  • High proficiency with MS Office applications required, as well as ability to work on product development roadmap platforms
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality testing processes
  • Team player
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under tight deadlines
