Responsibilities for Senior Tax Accountant include:
•Assist with review and preparation of GAAP provision calculations, data gathering, reporting and disclosure.
• Assist with review and preparation of SSAP 101 provision calculations, data gathering, reporting and disclosure.
• Support the GAAP and STAT tax accounting process.
• Assist with review and preparation of federal, state and local corporate tax returns, quarterly estimates and extensions.
• Assist with tax planning initiatives and special projects.
• Provide analysis of specific tax impacts.
• Liaise with external auditors to provide support.
• Support IRS and state audit-responses.
• Maintain technical proficiency through approved continuing education courses.
• Ensures Tax Compliance.
• Assist the Director of Tax and the Tax Managers with tax duties as well as other duties that are performed within the department.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with MS in Taxation or CPA preferred.
• 4-7 years’ experience.
• Previous experience leading others preferred.
• 4 Years’ Experience in Big 4 Public Accounting or Large Corporation Tax Department.
• Strong experience with provisions is required.
• Experience applying the principles of ASC 740, 740-10 and controls.
•Experience with OneSource Income Tax and Provision and/or other tax related software.
•Experience with Sage Fixed Asset software.
•Understanding of GAAP and Statutory tax accounting guidelines and provisions.
•Understanding of Statutory tax accounting guidelines and provisions a plus.
•Firm working knowledge of tax accounting as well as general accounting concepts, practices, and procedures and the ability to apply such knowledge in varied situations.
•Ability to organize, self-prioritize, and be a self-starter in a dynamic, extremely fast-paced environment with demanding internal and external deadlines. This role often requires the individual to work in a team environment, but, also able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision.
•Strong Excel skills and the ability to create and/or modify complex formulas and have proficiency with all other Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
•Possess a results-driven work ethic with a willingness to help wherever needed.
