Sr Principal Software Engineer- Huntsville 

Annual Salary: $80,000 - $180,000

In-Depth Engineering Corporation seeks Principal Software Engineers to support our rapidly growing engineering work for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapons Systems (GWS) Ground Support Systems (GSS) product team.

The candidate must have a current active DoD Secret Security clearance.

The work is performed at our customer site in Huntsville, AL.

Job Duties:

• Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment
• Develop requirements driven software solutions
• Resolve software issues (debugging) and support verification / test analysis
• Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with limited oversight and direction
• Apply "systems thinking" to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs
• Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 5-15 years of related experience
• Experience developing software in C and Java
• Experience with software development for embedded systems
• Have the ability to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
• Must be a US Citizen and hold a current active DoD Secret Security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel
• Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on limited direction and definition
• Experience developing using a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System
• Knowledge of various scripting languages and tools: Python, MATLAB, etc.
• Familiarity with build tools: Gradle and/or CMake, etc.
• UI Framework / JavaFX exposure
• Git version control system exposure
• Familiarity utilizing the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye Crucible)
• Familiarity with Software Containerization
• Experience working on CMMI Level 3 programs.
• Security Certification
