Impulse Creative is Hiring a Director of Development Near REMOTE, FL

Want to lead a team that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible on HubSpot? Impulse Creative is known as “the team that can build it on HubSpot even when HubSpot says it can’t be done”. Our team is looking for a Director of Development to lead our technical team of 9 full-time developers and implementation specialists. In this role, you’ll be responsible for mentoring, scaling, and leading the team to keep up with the agency’s growth. We’ll also give you some time to work on your craft and contribute to client and internal projects. 

From building amazing websites to taking on projects that extend the HubSpot CRM to custom CMS portals (and more!), we want this new hire to think big and push the boundaries of HubSpot. 

You’re an ideal candidate if you… 

  • Are well-versed in the HubSpot Platform - both the CMS and the CRM
  • Have notable experience building on HubSpot 
  • Can serve as a translator between “development world,” “marketing world,” and “client world” 
  • Love leading and managing teams in a way that makes everyone successful–and have experience doing just that.

Week in the life of the Director of Development

  • 20% of the week dedicated to building
  • 50% of the week dedicated to team building and coaching
  • 30% of the week dedicated to solution design, capacity planning, and cross-team coordination

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead strategic thinking to ensure projects move from sales to implementation successfully, coordinating with project managers, designers, marketers, and clients. 
  • Build project management processes 
  • Build metrics and goal posts for teams 
  • Supervise the department's daily workflow, assign project workload, and monitor deadlines and budgets for development team
  • Oversees team metrics, meetings, and overall deliverables including quarterly bonus goals
  • Acts as admin for development team PTO and sick time requests
  • Gathers feedback from design and technical staff on Web site development needs
  • Work Closely with Marketers/Graphic Designers
  • Builds pixel-perfect websites on HubSpot CMS, WordPress & similar CMS Tools
  • Assists in project planning and Website design
  • Makes suggestions on creating Web-based technical standards for specific Web sites and the company as a whole
  • Efficiency and budget control 

Qualifications: 

  • 4 years of Hubspot development experience Required
  • 2 years of Agency experience Required
  • 2 years of Client-facing communication experience Preferred
  • Expert-Level HubL, HTML, CSS, jQuery, Javascript
  • Proficient with Technical SEO
  • Project management systems preferably ClickUp
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients/projects simultaneously
  • Design experience preferred
  • Able to pivot and problem solve 
  • Able to create timelines 
  • Able to scope out projects using tactics and strategy
  • Excellent communication skills
