Team Overview:

As an intern in the Platform Engineering group you will have the opportunity to work with members of our platform system, software and hardware teams to develop and test innovative new RAIN RFID solutions. This will be a 3-month internship with a June start date.

What you will do:

Apply machine learning to existing RFID solutions that use rule based algorithms. In particular we would like you to:

• Characterize the performance of existing RAIN RFID reader solutions and use cases algorithms
• Label and prepare existing data sets for machine learning experiments
• Propose and test machine learning models with existing data sets
• Evaluate performance of proposed models against performance of existing system
• Work primarily in our Impinj Design Lab (IDL) in Beacon Hill.
• Develop reports or presentations to summarize and communicate results and progress.

What you will bring:

• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, of Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field
• Experience with at least one scripting and system analysis language such as Python and/or Matlab
• Basic knowledge of Machine Learning, Signal Processing, or Algorithm Development 
• Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, large scale, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
