Impact Solutions is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Washington, DC

Busy, successful specialty practice seeks a Medical Receptionist. Full, excellent benefits, M-F daytime hours. 
Job Summary: Customer Service; collect payment at the time of service, record payments made on excel worksheet; schedule patient follow-up appointments; answer multi-phone lines; pull charts for the next business day; reconcile end of day payments; assist in making patient reminder calls for the next day’s schedule.

Job Description
Qualifications and Experience:
· Up to two years of experience in a medical office or customer service position
· Good administrative skills including but not limited to email, internet applications, and computer skills
· Proven success asking for payment, making change, and balancing a cash drawer
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Proven experience handling difficult situations and managing customer relations.
· Neat and professional appearance
· Ability to multi-task
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
Patient Services:
· Accurately calculates patient charges marked on the fee ticket and ensures patient has a full understanding of the days charges. Ensures encounter forms are properly completed; including the marking of appropriate diagnosis code.
· Collects all past balances and current days service charges from patients and records onto excel worksheet. Provides patient with receipt.
· Ensures the Orthospot fee ticket is signed by the patient or guardian.
· Endorses all checks received from patients with WOSM stamp and maintains all payments made in a secure place.
· Answers incoming phone calls and assists in making patient confirmation calls.
· Pulls patient charts for the next business day and files any necessary charts.
· Schedules follow-up appointments for patients before they leave the office and provides an accurately filled out appointment card.
· Balances daily over-the-counter transactions, reconciles encounter forms, and prints detailed settlement report.
· Ensures all documents are cleared off the fax machine and distributed several times a day
· Assists Check-In Receptionist with registration of patients as needed.
· “Closes” the office each day according to protocol.
· Facilitates any Physician or MA requests throughout the day.

Other Responsibilities:
· Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPPA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
· Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions.
· Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the manager.
· Straightens up reception area throughout the day and end of the day.
· Reports any problems to management.
· Other duties as assigned.
 
Typical Working Conditions
· Work is performed in a reception area and involves frequent contact with patients. Work may be stressful at times. The employee must be comfortable asking for payments. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Employee will have frequent exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
Hours: 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM
Benefits: full benefits and paid parking or metro/bus subsidy.
