IMH Products is Hiring a Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift Near Indianapolis, IN

IMH is looking for a 2nd shift supervisor to oversee production in our press brake department. Schedule would be Mon-Thurs, from 4:15pm-2:45am. Competitive pay (including shift premium), PTO, and benefits (including 401k with matching) offered. Press brake experience preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Position Overview:

The Production Supervisor will lead and oversee daily operations within our metal fabrication facility, ensuring timely production of high-quality products. The ideal candidate will manage a skilled team of fabricators, allocate tasks, and maintain a safe and efficient workspace. This role requires a strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols. The Production Supervisor will play a pivotal role in driving quality control measures, implementing process improvements, training operators, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of fabrication machinery. (Press Brake, Laser Cutting, Punch Press, welding, CNC, and other general fabrication machines.)
  • Monitor production schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. Work closely with the quality control team regarding quality discrepancies.
  • Direct and coach employees on day-to-day operations. Assess the work performance of employees and identify areas that need improvement. Manage the workflow of employees, delegate tasks, and ensure production schedules are followed.
  • Hands-On Training: Play a pivotal role in providing hands-on training to employees. Lead practical demonstrations, guiding trainees through machine setup, tooling selection, and other department operations. Impart best practices and ensure trainees develop the skills needed for successful machine operation.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Work closely with existing Operators, identifying areas for improvement, and providing one-on-one coaching and mentoring. Help team members refine their techniques, optimize efficiency, and enhance their overall performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Act as the go-to resource for troubleshooting machine operation issues. Collaborate with operators to identify and address challenges in machine setup, tooling, and efficient operation, striving for quick and effective resolutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. Collaborate with the operations team to identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and enhanced productivity. Implement improvement initiatives and monitor their impact.
  • Safety Compliance: Reinforce a strong safety-first culture during training and continuous improvement activities. Ensure that all employees follow safety protocols and guidelines in machine operation.
  • Process Documentation: Assist in the creation of detailed documentation, such as training materials, troubleshooting guides, standard work instructions, etc.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure manufacturing equipment is well-maintained and functions optimally. Report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the production team and managers to align training programs and continuous improvement efforts with organizational goals. Contribute insights and actively participate in team meetings.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience with Supervision in a metal fabrication environment.

- 5 years of experience in metal fabrication and manufacturing.

- Experience developing and managing other employees.

- Demonstrated ability to provide hands-on training and coaching to new hires and existing employees.

- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to resolving related issues.

- Proficient in the use of calipers, protractors, and squares.

- Commitment to continuous improvement.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive, supportive training atmosphere.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
