Imagineering Finishing Technologies is Hiring a Quality Technician Near South Bend, IN

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The QTech supports the IFT Quality and Environmental Management System to meet the highest global manufacturing quality assurance standards. Currently IFT is accredited to ISO 9001:2000, AS9100, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and Nadcap for ChemProcessing and NDT. The QTECH will be directed in activities that support our efforts to maintain compliance with the standards we are accredited to and performs and/or audits the tasks outlined in our policy manual to ensure we remain in compliance with those standards.
  • The QTECH supports all activities related to customer, internal, and 3rd party audits. Supporting the activities includes participation in the audits, scheduling the appropriate resources, and assisting with complete and effective follow-up.
  • The QTECH will help develop and implement preventive and predictive methods to eliminate waste in our processes by effectively and efficiently implementing and improving our QMS/EMS. The QTECH must work with our team on methods to reduce variation in our production and support processes.
  • The QTECH will acquire proficiency in completing the tasks associated with our quality technician role, and may perform higher level functions on a temporary basis during vacations or other team absences. However, the primary role of the QTECH is to assist in the maintenance of our quality management system and communicate with the appropriate team members when additional resources are needed.
  • The QTECH has the authority to reject all materials and components which do not comply with customer specifications, and is a member of the Material Review Board.
  • The QTECH initiates and participates in Corrective and Preventive Actions to eliminate the root cause of potential or actual nonconformances.
  • The QTECH will acquire proficiency in continuous performance of administrative tasks associated with the department, including processing (and maintenance if required) of any records generated from these tasks.
  • The QTECH uses the Success Factors outlined by the Director of Quality as a tool to drive continuous improvement. The Success Factors provide measurable goals and performance targets and will be to determine the effectiveness of the QTECH. The QTECH must routinely discuss progress in meeting the Success Factors and provide solutions and/or request resources to overcome obstacles that are slowing or preventing progress.

JOB LEVEL

This position operates as entry level and reports directly to the Director of Quality.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

Requires experience in Quality Systems. Two/four year college degree is preferred, but past experience or on the job training will be considered instead of the degree.

Vision Requirements

Individuals who inspect material for final acceptance must have:

  • Color Vision Eye Examination annually per IFT vision requirements
  • Near-Vision Eye Examination annually per IFT vision requirements
  • The Individual(s) must meet the minimum standards in one eye, corrected with glasses/contacts or not corrected.

JOB COMPLEXITY

Assignments are moderately complex in nature where advanced problem solving, prioritizing, and communicating with all levels of plant and management personnel is a necessity.

SUPERVISION

Receives guidance with respect to general objectives, tasks and projects assigned, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments; operates within specific policy guidelines.

PLANNING/ORGANIZATION

  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments as necessary

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in a proactive team effort to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill

CONTINUING EDUCATION

The individual is encouraged to complete 24 hours of job related training per year. This may be completed by university level courses or seminars as approved by the Director of Quality or Director of Strategic Positioning.

TRAVEL

Local and overnight travel may be required.
