• This position is specifically for the REHAB unit
• Location : Lake Placid, NY (Home of the 1980 Winter Olympics)
• Physical rehabilitation specialists play a vital role in the overall well-being of residents by delivering comprehensive and high-quality therapy services.
• Successful applicants must possess a valid state-specific Physical Therapy license.

Responsibilities :

• Initiate skilled physical therapy treatments as per physician's orders and maintain regular communication with physicians.
• Maintain accurate written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for residents in the physical therapy program.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address specialized needs of residents and enhance their rehabilitation or maintenance of function.
• Provide input for Resident Care Planning meetings and attend them in the absence of the Director of Physical Therapy.
• Keep statistical records of residents' treatments.
• Assist in delivering in-service training programs upon request.
• Update and maintain residents' plan of care in the Inter-disciplinary Kardex.
• Submit requisitions for necessary supplies needed in the treatment of residents to the Director of Physical Therapy.
• Assume the responsibilities of the Director of Physical Therapy, including supervision of Physical Therapy Aides and documentation, during absences.

Qualifications :

• Graduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy is mandatory.
• A valid state license to practice Physical Therapy is required.
• Welcome applications from recent Physical Therapy graduates.
• Preferably have at least two years of experience in the field of Physical Therapy.
• Must have a genuine interest in providing physical therapy treatments to the geriatric and subacute populations.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
