Illuminate Mission Solutions is Hiring an IT Program Manager (TS eligible) Near Maryland, NY

Overview

We have an opening for an information technology (IT) Program Manager to lead an exciting system and network architecture assessment and prototype delivery project for a U.S. Government customer. This position requires a leader

who will exhibit a strong sense of ownership, pride, and accountability as well as the flexibility to change priorities andsolutions as required. As an IT Program Manager, you will provide oversight for all associated workstreams, projects, team

members and program delivery. You will be responsible for leading a system engineering team for the assessment, design,delivery, and evaluation of a prototype to meet customer requirements. These requirements include improving cross

departmental communications across networks, provide real-time tracking of materials, and improving security and accountability of operational processes. You will be able to identify unaddressed issues, work on solutions, or find theappropriate owner to ensure only high-quality deliverables are produced. You will work with stakeholders at differentlevels of the organization to manage execution of the project and promote transparency. You’ll work to ensurecollaboration, communication and visibility between customer and project staff, and successful delivery this complexproject. You will be responsible for the end-to-end quality of delivery requirements under this program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program execution to include directing schedule, budget, and ensuring communication facilitates on-schedule completion within budget constraints
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to include organizing and leading project activities and stakeholder engagement meetings
  • Lead cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a network architecture assessment and prototype system
  • Lead project resources to analyze project needs, define requirements, develop user stories, develop, and execute test plans, develop, and maintain project documentation, and report (written and oral) project progress to stakeholders
  • Manage project staff and resources (including onsite and virtual contractors) and implement the workplan to achieve assigned objectives
  • Manage and/or create all project deliverables (e.g. project documents, phase steps and gates, project meetings, etc.) from initiation through delivery
  • Provide guidance on prioritization, capacity planning and resource allocation to the project staff and Executive Leadership Team
  • Proactively identify problems and risks on project, seeking input from appropriate stakeholders, and escalating where necessary

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

  • PMP® - Program Management Professional (PMP) Certified
  • 8 years of Program/ Project management experience
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build and foster internal relationships
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills across audiences of varying technical knowledge levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in strategy
  • Ability to set project goals and develop plans to meet those goals

Required Education and Experience

  • Experience successfully leading programs involving parallel and sequential projects with interdependencies while adhering to schedule and cost milestones
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining project timeframes, budgeting estimates and status reports
  • Demonstrated experience managing resources for projects, such as equipment and team members
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience implementing IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget
  • Demonstrated experience using project management tools to track project performance and schedule
  • Demonstrated experience performing project risk assessments and risk mitigation strategies
