Illuminate seeks an exceptionally qualified Application Engineer.

PLEASE NOTE:

You must have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK. In order to obtain potential HMG security clearance with no exclusions, candidates should ideally be a British Citizen.

Responsibilities

As an Application Engineer at Illuminate, you will provide support for our field teams and customers across the world, this involves:

• Troubleshooting and researching customer issues, involving reproducing issues where possible, analysing customer data and working with our R&D team to resolve issues.
• Developing and sharing knowledge, such as writing of knowledge base articles and creating or presenting training as required.
• Managing tickets and customer escalations.
• Planning and assisting with the rollout of new systems and upgrades.
• Become a customer or product expert, feeding back to the business and ensuring that our products meet the needs of the customers and are supportable.

Qualifications

• Telecoms or Computer science degree or 5 years equivalency experience.
• Software development skills / awareness; one of more of below

•  Build engineering

• Software development, in C , Python, or Ansible

• Managing, configuring, installing and debugging within Linux systems.

  • Software Support and Problem / Incident Management

• Incident management experience

• Exposure to ticketing systems

Nice to Have:

• Common security and monitoring technologies.
• Working Knowledge of Networking including Mobile Networks, TCP/IP, Routing and switching, GSM, UMTS or LTE/NR
• Experience of using logs and/or metrics for troubleshooting of distributed systems.
