The Illinois Department of Central Management Services Bureau of Property Management is seeking to hire a Special Events Manager in the Chicago and Northern Region. This position manages, organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the Statewide Special Events Program. Establishes and implements policy and procedures for the management of the program, coordinates, plans, and implements events with the Governor’s Office, elected officials, and other governmental agencies requesting use of the Press Room. In addition, this position works with Joint Committee on Administrative Rules for requested adjustments in the rate schedule to ensure proper rates are paid by groups utilizing state space. Under general direction of the Chicago and Northern Region Facilities Manager, serves as the Special Events Manager for the Michael A. Bilandic Building (MABB), Suburban North Regional Office Building (SNROB), Zeke Gorgi Building, Rockford Regional Office Building (RROB) and other assigned facilities in the Chicago and Northern Region.
Reviews requests for reservation of space for the Program and to ensure appropriate approvals are obtained from Regional/Facility Managers, Legal, and Director's office for the rental of CMS owned and/or operated space for the purpose of special events.
Plans and prepares budget documents for the Special Event Program paid through the Special Events Revolving Fund (SERF).
Serves as a backup to subordinate staff when required and as needed to ensure critical functions are performed.
Serves as a working supervisor.
Serves as a liaison for the Strategic Planning and Performance Review, work with internal CMS staff to establish performance indicators and measurements used for the annual Comptroller’s report; Service, Efforts, and Accomplishments.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
