Illinois Central College is Hiring a Personal Trainer (Part-Time) Near East Peoria Campus, IL
The Personal Trainer is primarily responsible for providing one-on-one, group instruction, and guidance to members regarding their fitness and exercise abilities. The Trainer provides members with proper technique and education to enable a safe and effective exercise experience personalized to meet their fitness goals. The schedule for this position may include night or weekend hours.
This position pays $15.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on certification and/or experience.This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. - Provide one-on-one and group training, guidance, and exercise techniques to members within their personal exercise abilities in order to ensure an effective yet safe exercise experience.
- Educate and motivate members toward a healthier lifestyle, coordinating with other professionals (dieticians, physicians, etc.) as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and completed forms and reports as required.
- Seek continuing education experiences to maintain certifications, gain knowledge, and improve skills.
- Build positive relationships with clients in order to personalize training and encourage program growth.
- Ensure workout areas are clean and organized after each training session and help ensure all training equipment is functional and working properly.
- Work as a team member with all ICC Fitness Center staff to provide a high level of service to all members.
- Attend all scheduled meetings, performance reviews and required staff training throughout the year.
- Communicate effectively with other staff members and management to ensure delivery of quality programs and services.
- Perform related duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification; Certification must be maintained throughout employment; or ability to obtain certification in 90 days.
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications or ability and willingness to obtain them within the first month of employment required.
- Movement and programming principles for client progression.
- Operation principles of PC computer systems including excel and word.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong motivational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others
- Associate's degree in health or fitness related field.
- Experience as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, or related fitness industry experience.
