JOB The Workforce Manager will promote, develop, and cultivate relationships with community stakeholders and employers to support ICC Workforce employer initiatives including registered and customized apprenticeships. The Workforce Manager will use data and stakeholder meetings to align college programs with workforce development needs. The Workforce manager will work with internal stakeholders in designing innovative curricula to enhance participant skills to increase acceptance into competitive job training programs and academic programs at ICC. The Workforce manager will also market and manage these programs and services and manage operational logistics of registered and customized apprenticeships. They will have supervisory responsibility over workforce coordinators. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. Connect the college to business, industry, and community groups and create partnerships to meet the workforce needs of the ICC district.2. Collaborate and manage relationships with local employers, labor unions, community groups, and ICC internal partners to develop related technical instruction and on-the-job training required for pre-apprenticeships, registered and customized apprenticeships that build and maintain a highly skilled workforce to support employer needs.3. Partner with the Department of Labor to secure registered apprenticeship programs that comply with all requirements and regulations, managing all required paperwork for the college and partner employers.4. Promote the role of pre-apprenticeship, registered and customized apprenticeships through development and maintenance of relationships with employers, labor and community groups, and organizations.5. Provide a consultative approach to selling and determine assistance needs within workforce and economic development to address employment gaps through ICC programs including pre-apprenticeships, registered and customized apprenticeships.6. Manage the financial tasks for apprenticeships including collaborating with Workforce and Financial leadership to determine appropriate pricing, employer agreement contracts, invoicing, and employer payments.7. Manage and collaborate with staff to identify and secure new business opportunities for the Workforce department.8. Maintain contacts in labor and industry to promote and develop pre-apprenticeships, registered and customized apprenticeships.9. Collaborate with staff, community, Workforce Department leadership, and others to establish recommendations for institutional goals and strategic plans that will address gaps in workforce and academic skill.10. Collaborate on community workforce initiatives by maintaining internal partnerships with College and Career Readiness, Community and Adult Education and the Academic Affairs Department in implementing the institution’s strategic plan.11. Participate on industry-sector advisory boards to ensure alignment of workforce programs to current economic development needs and opportunities for graduates.12. Plan, review, evaluate, and supervise the work of subordinate staff responsible for promoting, establishing, monitoring and evaluating pre-apprenticeship, registered and customized apprenticeships; provide administrative guidance and train employees.13. Perform related duties as required. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION 1. Master’s degree.2. Minimum 2-years direct management experience supervising staff.3. Experience in sales/marketing or training.4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.5. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships.
