Job Description:
Ignite has a Work-From-Home Junior Database Administrator position open in Huntsville, AL supporting the NASA Agency Applications Office (AAO). AAO provides services to operate, maintain, and enhance key Business and Mission-Supporting platforms, applications and infrastructure used across the Agency. In addition, the AAO provides support for the extended Enterprise Applications stakeholder and end-user communities.
The Database Administrator will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of database systems implemented in support of AAO applications. The AAO database infrastructure consists of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL platforms.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree)
Skills:

• Demonstrates solid knowledge in database design, development and integration principles
• Fundamental knowledge of database administration best practices and techniques
• Experience supporting mission critical database management systems
• Understanding of ANSI Standard SQL constructs for Database Administration
• Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, migrating, provisioning, securing, patching, backing up and recovery of enterprise database systems
• Conceptual knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architectures
• Good understanding of networking concepts and principles in a client/server database environment
• Experience in Unix, PowerShell or other scripting language
• Must have good communication, presentation, documentation and organizational skills
• Effectively works in a team environment with other DBAs to troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
• Schedule flexibility is required to support on-call DBA rotation and the ability to respond to trouble tickets within time required by SLAs
