Ignite is currently recruiting for an experienced Junior Network Administrator to support Huntsville City Schools.

Job Duties:

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of the IT environment.
• Manages the daily activities of the local and wide area network systems, performs diagnostics, schedules preventative maintenance ensuring network systems are operational, and reports systems faults.
• Responsible for installation, administration, and testing of network servers, operating system software, printers, AV equipment, cabling, and other related network components/equipment.
• Provides guidance to network users during responses to emergency work requests; troubleshoots network failures and errors; and diagnoses, isolates, and resolves routine network related problems ensuring timely results and minimal disruption of operations.
• Assists with implementing network security procedures for safeguarding all networking systems.
• Performs physical security review for network assets and makes recommendations for the layout and location of network components, equipment, cabling, and wiring.
• Maintains network management programs and assists in preparing network status reports.
• User administration (setup and maintaining account)
• Maintaining Microsoft 2008, 2012, and 2016 server operating systems
• Create/Manage servers in VMWare virtualization environment utilizing VMWare VCenter.
• Quickly arrange repair for hardware in occasion of hardware failure
• Create file systems and maintain EMC NAS storage systems
• Install software (Server and Client)
• Monitor network communication and performance utilizing SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, and Cisco IOS CLI.
• Configuration and management of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, Access Points, Switches and Routers (if needed)
• Deployment of software and client system monitoring via Microsoft SCCM.
• Update systems as soon as new version of OS and application software comes out
• Implement Windows Group Policy (GPOs) to configure and control systems
• Assist with day to day cable pulls/cross-connects/terminations.
• Perform day to day moves, adds, and changes on VoIP phone systems.
• Assist with new site/new system installations.
• Provide training to end users as needed.
• Perform dial plan and routing administration.
• Leviton certification in order to preserve / maintain the warranty provided on the cabling in all new and re-cabled facilities. Preferred, not required.
• Cisco certification is not required, but an in-depth knowledge of and experience with, router and switch configuration via IOS is required.
• Proficiency with Windows PowerShell is not required but is HIGHLY preferred, as it is used daily for administrative and information gathering tasks.
• Familiarity with AZURE, CLOUD, and Intune
• Must be able to operate independently at all time including during cabling installation and maintenance.

Job Requirements

Education:

Associates Degree or higher.

Skills:

Previous network experience.

Must be able to obtain an Alabama State Department of Education Background check.
