Ignite Digital Services is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our Charleston, SC office to support the accounting operations for the company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with superior listening, communication, and analytical talents.

This position serves an important role in corporate operations, working as a junior accountant in a dynamic team, supporting the accounts payable and payroll process. This is not a position where you will just learn how to use an accounting system, you will need to apply your knowledge of accounting to problem solve, including investigating variances. This would be a perfect position for someone who craves responsibility, learning, and experience, supporting all facets of accounting and finance with unlimited opportunity to grow. The ideal candidate will possess a background in payroll and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Maintain tax and payroll files in line with GAAP and government regulations, and support in periodic reporting.
  • Entering customer/vendor and account data from source documents.
  • Process and manage invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
  • General bookkeeping functions.
  • Assist in the entire payroll cycle, from data collection and input, through processing and verification, to final disbursement and record-keeping.
  • Assist with employee medical deduction calculations and reconciliation.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank and ledger accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll and invoice inquiries from both employees and vendors.
  • Assist with month-end closing tasks.
  • Contribute to the year-end audit process by providing essential documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP rules and regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, including Vlookups and Pivot Tables.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • 1 years of accounting experience.
  • Background in payroll processing preferred.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of accounting to include financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the reconciliation process.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regards to company accounts.
