IFC's mining team works with private sector companies and coordinates closely with the World Bank's policy team that works with governments on mining regulations. The team works with a wide range of investment products, from project finance and corporate loans on the debt side, to equity and quasi-equity in private or listed companies. To support the growth of this business, IFC is seeking an experienced candidate with a solid technical background and sound business judgment for the position.
The Industry Specialist / Mining Engineer will contribute to the strategic planning and execution of IFC's involvement in the mineral sector and execution of its sustainable development strategy. The role will involve fully participating in new business development, investment appraisal and portfolio supervision activities, as well as producing research articles related to the industry. As an Industry Specialist in the mining team, the individual will play an important role in helping IFC identify investment opportunities, meet client needs, and manage assets, while promoting positive and sustainable development outcomes.
The position will be based in Washington DC.
