Brief Description

The Pharmacist in Charge will work todevelop and implement strategies to ensure & improve operational excellenceand compliance as well as provide outstanding customer service within LaFarmacia. As Pharmacist in Charge, you have one of the most significant rolesin our company delivering our purpose, modeling our values, and demonstratinggenuine, authentic care for our patients. In addition to leading and directingour Pharmacy Staff, comprised of both staff Pharmacists and PharmacyTechnicians, you are accountable for the management, oversight, and operationof all aspects within our pharmacy.

Responsibilities

oProvidesupervision for the dispensing pharmacy.

oMonitorindustry, regulatory and compliance industry, regulatory and compliancedevelopments (e.g., state Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) for pendingregulatory changes and partner with Division Compliance Officer and pharmacymanagement to address them.

oCommunicateand educate staff on pharmacy-related issues such as regulatorychanges/compliance, FDA drug recalls, drug information, sample medications, andinvestigational studies

oImplementquality assurance programs for pharmacy services crafted to supervise andevaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care, pursue opportunitiesto improve patient care, and resolve identified problems.

oImplementpolicies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security and dispositionof drugs and devices.

oMaintainrecord of all required pharmacist licensure & technician registrations forcurrent staff, as required by state law.

oMaintainsrecords such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files,inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries of poisons,narcotics, and controlled drugs.

oRespondto the board regarding any warning notice issued by the Board.

oImplementpolicies and procedures for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality ofprescription information and patient health care information, and ensures thatall employees of the pharmacy read, sign, and comply with the establishedpolicies and procedures.

oEnsureLa Farmacia is in compliance with all local, state, and federal accreditingrules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy

oServeas a primary source of information and responds to internal and externalcustomer questions or clarification of information.

oAnalyzesprescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usageor harmful interactions.

oOrdersand purchases pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, and drugs, maintainingstock and storing and handling it properly.

Pharmacist in Charge Top Skills &Proficiencies

oBachelorof Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree

oActiveRegistered Pharmacist (RPh) License in Louisiana

oAtleast two (2) Years of Related Pharmacy Management Experience

oUp-to-dateknowledge of pharmaceutical technology and databases

oKnowledgeof State and Federal Laws and Regulations Pertaining to the Legal Operation ofa Pharmacy

oExcellentWritten and Verbal Communication Abilities

oDemonstrateAnalytical, Problem-Solving and Organizational Skills
