Job Description

The Office of Academic Affairs at Idaho State University invites applications for a Campus Executive Director in Idaho Falls. This is a priority, time-sensitive search, with the desire for the successful candidate to start as possible. The Campus Executive Director is responsible for coordinating with the Office of the Provost to ensure the vibrancy of the Idaho Falls and Twin Falls campuses including academic program delivery, research support, community engagement, and campus operations. These campuses and their communities offer students in the region transformative educational experiences, serve as sites for research and industrial collaboration, and connect the local community to the broader university community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide campus leadership in Eastern and Southern Idaho advancing the University’s academic vision through execution of site-specific strategic plans and partnering effectively with departments, Deans, and Academic Affairs on academic program development and implementation.
  • Work to assess the appropriateness and efficacy of programmatic offerings and scheduling in Idaho Falls and Twin Falls in order to inform Academic Affairs of the unique nature of the needs of those community. This information will be especially important in assisting deans and department chairs in constructing academic schedules, which the incumbent will be responsible for analyzing and consulting on.
  • Collaborate with the provost/vice provosts, deans, department chairs, and faculty members in the colleges/schools related to the delivery of instruction, research and service.
  • Oversees campus operations (Facilities, Information Technology, Student Services, Public Safety, Audio Visual, Education Technology Services) to ensure effective overall campus planning, day to day operations and public relations in Idaho Falls and Twin Falls. Oversees and manages budget related to these in coordination with area specific unit leads.
  • Serve as primary liaison between ISU, UI, INL, CEI, CAES, local area school districts, and other relevant partners in Idaho Falls and/or Twin Falls. The incumbent is responsible for partnering with other institutional leadership to ensure effective community engagement with industry, civic partners, and educational leaders.
  • Serve as a liaison for professional education partnerships with the Idaho National Laboratory.
  • Represent ISU on LOC (Local Operations Committees). LOC’s are SBOE assigned regional committees to oversee collaboration between state institutions.
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least seven years in higher education or higher education administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher.
  • At least ten years of higher education or higher education administration.
