The Business Loan Specialist role is a position within our Small Business Administration (SBA) Sales team. This position is responsible for providing effective customer service to small business owners by gaining a thorough understanding of the services we offer and assisting clients with the necessary loan documents needed. The Business Loan Specialist works closely with the SBA Business Loan Experts to inform clients on the required loan documents, handle any customer inquiries, and collect the required documentation upon request. Business Loan Specialists will be expected to develop a professional and responsive working relationship with our external customers and effectively manage internal processes to provide consistent quality, service, and internal support.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handles a high volume of inbound and outbound calls related to front-end SBA loan inquiries and applications.
• Answers questions about our products and the necessary documentation needed.
• Works with small business owners to obtain the necessary loan documentation based on their business needs.
• Maintain customer accounts by recording and updating account information in our system.
• Work collaboratively with senior SBA sales team to determine eligibility & creditworthiness.
• Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication & high quality customer service.
• Provide accurate, valid, and complete information by using the right methods/tools.
• Effectively communicate with clients and cultivate a positive relationship.
• Continuously develop knowledge of SBA lending products and guidelines.

Qualifications for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to think critically and troubleshoot client related problems over the phone.
• Fluent in English
• Spanish is a plus.
• Microsoft Office experience preferred; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
• Ability to work productively on your own and as a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing and able to work at a fast pace and adjust well to change.
• Desire to work in the SBA industry and grow within the company.

Physical Demands:

The Physical Demands of the Loan Processor position are typical of those in a traditional office
environment. Employee will need to be able to remain on the phone and seated at a desk for 8‐9 hours in typical work day.
