Position Description:

We are looking for an SBA Business Loan Specialist Team Lead to join our dynamic and growing team. You will be managing an SBA Business Loan Specialist team with a focus on mentoring and training. You will be responsible for individuals’ development and the implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. Successful candidates must show an ability to drive employee performance within the day-to-day operations to fulfill the organization’s mission and values.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and developing loan documentation specialists / business loan specialists.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Foster a cohesive work environment between the Business Loan Specialist team and other departments.
• The Business Loan Specialist team duties include, but are not limited to, the initial vetting of SBA loan applications, document collection and review, handling inbound and outbound calls, maintaining customer accounts.
• Leading, managing, and holding the Business Loan Specialist team accountable to performance standards. Drive employee performance.
• Continuous process improvement focus and ability to give solution-oriented feedback to improve processes.
• Serve as point of contact for internal and external escalations. Apply a timely, solution-oriented approach to common hurdles.
• Adapt quickly to changes and coordinate updates. Maintains and assures that proper communication is effectively distributed to all.
• Identify any process gaps and reinforce processes with team members.
• Responsible for developing and executing operational plans to best meet business goals.
• Interview, onboard and train new team members.
• Maintain training library.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of SBA lending rules, regulations, and practices including most recent SOP is a plus.
• Five (5) or more years in loan processing experience.
• Excellent leadership skills to develop and motivate others; must demonstrate experience leading and developing team members.
• Ability to prioritize and operate with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary guidance

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of the position are typical of those found in a traditional office environment. Employees will not need to walk significant distances nor lift substantial weight. Employee will need to be able to remain seated at a desk for 8-9 hours in a typical workday.
