Job Title: Security Services Operations Engineer LeadLocation: Fairmont, WV; Silver Spring, MDClearance Required: Active Secret or higherDescriptionIBSS Corporation is seeking an experienced Security Services Operations Engineer Lead to support a Federal Security Operations Center. As a Cyber E&O Technical Lead, you will play a valuable part in supporting the NCSC’s mission to protect NOAA networks, computers, programs and data from cyber-attack damage and unauthorized access.Key Responsibilities:Provide technical oversight across the NOAA NCSC program to a team of security infrastructure, network, firewall engineers, and team leadsProvide guidance, coaching, and development to a cross functional security engineering & operations teamDesign, develop or recommend integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protectedEngage the client, where applicable, in the strategic design process to translate security and business needs into technical designsBoost the project lifecycle for infrastructure and technology projectsConfigure and validate secure systemsTesting security products/systems to detect computer and information security weaknessesFacilitate and delegate daily ticket queue management, tasks, and projects where applicableManage and react to system monitoring alerting as neededPerform system checkouts and testing of system upgrades and patches within operational environmentsCoordinate with enterprise partners on system outages and make decisions on system failover to different availability zones or data centers when applicableEnsure documentation relative operational procedures, services, etc., are written and centrally accessible and updated as necessaryProviding reporting and metrics deliverables to leadership and senior managementAssist with team resource management and project prioritizationRequired Skills /Education/ Certifications & Qualifications:B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information technology, or other Cyber Security field and 4 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience and/or technology certifications may be considered in lieu of degreeKnowledge of security system design tools, methods, and techniquesKnowledge of new and emerging information technology (IT) and cybersecurity technologiesKnowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapsesKnowledge of system life cycle management principles, including software security and usabilityKnowledge of capabilities and requirements analysisKnowledge of basic system, network, and OS hardening techniquesSkill in conducting vulnerability scans and recognizing vulnerabilities in security systemsSkill in identifying systemic security issues based on the analysis of vulnerability and configuration dataSkill in troubleshooting and diagnosing cyber defense infrastructure and application anomalies and work through resolutionSkill in applying and incorporating information technologies into proposed solutionsSkill in independently making configuration updates to ensure system availability needsAbility to share meaningful insights about the context of an organization’s threat environment that improve its risk management postureAbility and drive to quickly learn new software and IT conceptsComprehension of accepted security practices, troubleshooting issues, attack vectors, and customer supportKnowledge and background in supporting: Linux/UNIX, Python/PowerShell/Javascript, vulnerability scanning & patching, firewalls, and networkingKnowledge and background in administering: Windows, Archer, ThreatConnect, FireEye, Tenable/Nessus, WebInspect, SCCM, VMWare, FreeNAS/Pure/NetApp storage, and PKI certificate managementDesired Skills:Demonstrated experience in cyber security design, engineering and operationsBackground with System Administration, Network Administration Network Security, Networking Standards, Network Protocols, NIST/FISMA standards and controls, SIEM platforms and security tools, Network Hardware ConfigurationsCyber Security Training or Certification (ie Security , Network , SPLUNK, FireEye)Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 series or ISO 27000 series documentsWindows 10 security best practices and configurationsUnderstanding of advanced threat detection in an enterprise environmentUnderstanding of malware families, their types, and the threat they poseProficiency with Microsoft Windows administrative & troubleshooting toolsDemonstrated experience performing cybersecurity analysis from an operations & engineering perspectiveBackground with Splunk (preferred) or other SIEM platformAbout IBSS Corp.IBSS is a Woman-Owned business.
