JOB TITLE: Residuals Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Merchant Accounting

REPORTS TO: Direct of Merchant Accounting

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No

JOB LOCATION: Nashville, TN

TRAVEL: 0-10%

SUMMARY OF POSITION: This teammate will be responsible for the calculation of monthly residuals, commissions and bonuses as well as managing, from end-to-end, the timely distribution of payments to i3 Verticals’ independent sales reps. Related tasks include monthly commissions reporting, analyzing the impact of commission structure changes, and the implementation of all approved commission changes. The individual in this role will also collect, analyze and validate data from multiple sources and deliver findings and reports to members of the Sales organization as well as research & prepare ad-hoc requests from members of the Sales organization. This role typically uses spreadsheets, ERP systems or dedicated computer programs to gather data for payment calculation or analysis. This teammate will contribute to the development or improvement of systems to effectively track or capture data.

While this position is designed to support the Director of Merchant Accounting and is expected to be an independent agent of change, this role requires a self-starter attitude. Candidates must be comfortable taking initiative, speaking with sales agents and driving projects that may directly impact company-wide operations and profitability. This role has significant communication responsibilities and requires the ability to regularly interact with Sales organization members, including executive management, and articulate issue resolution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the delivery of sales calculations, analysis and reporting within Sales organization, developing analysis and reporting, making recommendations, and implementing improvements to the current Sales process
  • Manage the end-to-end i3 Verticals commission process with an emphasis on timely, accurate delivery of earned commissions
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the what customer data available
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues discovered during preparation and reporting process
  • Translate financial data for multiple payment processors into journal entries to record revenue, expenses and sales commissions on a monthly basis
  • Resolves reconciliation issues while also creating and maintaining documentation and/or trendlines to assist in future problem resolution
  • May perform cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission/incentive plan design or reviewing sales volume tier levels for sales agents
  • Provide general support for the sales team on compensation questions or issues
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and other tasks or analysis as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Preferred Background in Accounting and Finance
  • Must be proficient in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas and XLOOKUP)
  • Experience with any compensation/incentive software
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to structure and work on exploratory problems
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating data and analysis into relevant implications
  • Able to engage verbally and written in professionally consultative manner with all levels of leadership when helping solve/manage content deliverables

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

Preference given to those with experience in the Payments Processing Industry

Experience with databases/data warehouses such as Microsoft Access database and SQL is a plus

2 years of direct experience in Sales Commissions preferred
