Job Summary :

This role provides crucial support to servers and bartenders, streamlining their processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

These include the following, with other duties potentially assigned as necessary.

Bar Back Duties :

• Prepare all garnishes, fresh juices, and cocktail batches for drink preparation.
• Wipe down surfaces : tables, chairs, cabinets, countertops.
• Restock supplies for servers / bartenders as needed.
• Handle trash pickup and disposal in the bar and bar service areas.
• Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (e.g., washing hands after using the restroom).
• Polish and restock operation equipment (silverware, linens, and glassware).
• Assist bartenders as requested.
• Refill water and ice as needed.
• Perform all opening, running, and closing side duties.
• Adhere to all standards of service.
• Be flexible with work schedules and late hours when necessary.
• Regular and punctual attendance is required.
• Complete tasks related to stocking, replenishing, cleaning, and maintenance (notify the Manager on Duty of any necessary maintenance).
• Uniform and / or clothing should always be "on stage clean."
• Foster an environment of "Teamwork," offering help to colleagues or guests without hesitation.
• Attend mandatory meetings, training, workshops, and / or seminars.
• Adhere to organization policies and procedures.
• Maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc.
• Clean serving equipment at bars.
• Stock refrigeration units with wines and beers, replace beer kegs, etc.
• Replenish bar ice.
• Clean and polish bar, counters, shelves, equipment, bar stools, etc.

Qualification Requirements :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and / or Experience :

• High volume restaurant experience preferred.
• High School Diploma.
• One to two years of experience in a hotel restaurant bar.

Language Skills :

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in the primary language of the property location.

Mathematical Skills :

Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense, define problems, collect data, and notify management when necessary. Ability to re-prioritize tasks quickly when necessary.

Physical Demands :

These demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties, the employee is frequently required to stand (a minimum of 8 hours), walk, handle, feel, grasp, and hold objects / tools / controls.

They must reach with hands and arms, balance service trays and glasses, stoop, crouch, bend, talk, hear, taste, and smell.

Climbing stairs and kneeling may also be required. The employee must frequently lift, carry, pull, and / or move up to 50 pounds.

Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.

Hours :

Due to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, an employee may be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and / or overtime.

This position specifically requires day and evening availability, including weekends and especially Sundays.
