The Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) is a growing, not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, serving the automotive collision repair industry globally. The organization was established by representatives of the collision repair, automotive, and insurance industries in 1979 and has doubled its revenue over the last six years.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Lead Associate, the I-CAR Part-Time Instructor is responsible for delivering I-CAR training to individuals in the collision repair inter-industry in accordance with established training procedures. I-CAR Part-Time Instructors must be technically skilled in the collision repair process, and may deliver training in multiple formats pending skillsets including:
WELDING/HOSD
- Instructor must have experience in the collision repair process including but not limited to automotive welding, MIG Brazing, structural repair, squeeze ty pe resistance spot welding, steel and aluminum dent removal.
- Experience in performing these activities is a plus, with knowledge of how these procedures are performed is desirable.
- Instructor must maintain current I-CAR WTC Certifications as needed.
VIRTUAL
- Facilitate up to 50 students in virtual environment while presenting curriculum, using established tool set and curriculum.
- Must have access to facility or space that is suitable for virtual delivery along with appropriate internet and bandwidth connection that supports a minimum connection speed of 15mbps upload/download for delivery.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Promotes the benefits of I-CAR training to all industry segments, including collision repair businesses, insurance offices, vendors, and career and technical schools and colleges.
Constantly improves training skills, including the use of questions, effective answers to questions, and group exercises.
Requirements
A minimum of five years of related experience in the industry is required. Prior involvement with I-CAR is strongly desired, including I-CAR class attendance as a student. Platinum Individual status and previous training experience are preferred, but not required. ASE certification is encouraged.
