Job Summary:

The Pressing Area Technician is a non-exempt employee who will assist technical personnel in the preparation of products for pressing. The employee will operate presses and convey intermediate and by-products to holding areas. Tasks will be accomplished through the Area Technician is also responsible for proper sanitation and storage of processing equipment.

Employee Responsibilities:

• Assist technical personnel in equipment operation during production.
• Move press cages between press areas during operation.
• Clean equipment and reusable elements such as filters between production runs.
• Direct product waste to appropriate disposal equipment with the use of automated equipment.
• Operate Press Feed and powered lift equipment from elevated control panels.
• Monitor and adjust temperature of product storage tanks with the use of manual and electronic systems.
• Comply with all plant operational and safety rules.
• Reports needed repairs or problems to lead person or manager.
• Hold all matters related to the corporation in confidence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, manuals, read, write & verbally communicate. 

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. 

Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, high humidity, dust, and odors without adverse reaction.

Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day. 

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repetitively. 

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 1 year related experience required.
