HYDRAFORCE is Hiring a Test Team Lead/ Manufacturing Team Lead Near IL, IL

Job Introduction

The Testing Engineering Team Lead will maintain a constant and productive work environment on the shop floor. The Testing Engineering Team Lead will lead and train the Testing Engineers (level 1 and techs) as well as will work closely with Production supervisors to support testing needs.

The Testing Engineering Team Lead will also work on long term projects that will support HydraForce’s Mission Statement.

Role Responsibility

  • Assign duties, monitor quality and on-time delivery of staff’s projects and daily work
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance of personnel and implement improvements
  • Consult with the Testing Engineering Manager on personnel issues and development
  • Analyze and design lean manufacturing testing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, determine use of space, equipment, throughput, and personnel
  • Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment, and operations for better utilization of space within their assigned facility
  • Work closely with research and development, quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and test stands within their assigned facility
  • Ensure manufacturing safety policies and procedures are enforced
  • Stay informed with new manufacturing technologies and equipment to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies
  • Support current and new product introductions, APQP
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering and Production as needed to communicate and resolve FPY and test stand issues
  • Determine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing testing process
  • Ensure that all manufacturing product specifications are developed, and testing procedures are in developed per APQP
  • Reduce costs through Lean Manufacturing and assigned CI projects
  • Monitor and in conjunction with the Testing Engineering Manager, update Metrics on a regular basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Supervisory Responsibility

  • With guidance from the Testing Engineering Manager, lead the Test Engineer 1’s and Technicians assigned to designated facilities
  • Train all Test Engineer I in JASKAF requirements growing their project management and technical skills in the process.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Five - seven years related experience in a manufacturing testing environment
  • Experience in test stand design, integration, and modification.
  • Expert knowledge in hydraulics and electronics
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on, team oriented and committed to business improvement processes
  • Process-oriented mentality
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong knowledge in writing product specifications
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to perform risk assessment for products, processes, and suppliers
  • Lean system and Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Experience in process engineering skill sets.
  • FMEA, Flow Charts, Testing Control Plans, Correlation and GR&R.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Computer literacy : Basic skills with MS Word, Teams, Forms, Flow, Excel; Strong CAD proficiency, Minitab
  • PLC, ThingWorx, LabView experience preferred.
  • Previous Supervisory Experience is preferred

Physical Requirements :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following :

  • Occasionally lift and move a minimum of 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.

Work Environment :

This job operates in a professional office environment and shop floor setting. This role is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.
