The Assistant Operations Director for Food and Beverage is a key leadership role within the hospitality industry, responsible for supporting the overall management and operation of food and beverage outlets within a hotel, resort, restaurant, or similar establishment. This role assists the Operations Director in ensuring the highest standards of guest satisfaction, profitability, and operational efficiency are maintained within the food and beverage department.

The Assistant Operations Director for Food and Beverage plays a critical role in ensuring the success of food and beverage operations, contributing to the overall guest satisfaction, financial performance, and reputation of the establishment. This position requires a dynamic leader with a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:
  • Assist the Operations Director in overseeing the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, lounges, banquet facilities, room service, and catering.
  • Ensure that all outlets are adequately staffed, equipped, and stocked to meet guest demand and maintain service standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop menus, maintain food quality standards, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Guest Experience:
    • Uphold a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing personalized service, addressing guest feedback and resolving any issues or concerns promptly.
    • Work closely with front-of-house staff to maintain a welcoming atmosphere, uphold service standards, and ensure seamless coordination between the kitchen and service areas.
    • Implement training programs to develop the skills and knowledge of food and beverage staff, enhancing their ability to deliver outstanding service.
  • Financial Management:
    • Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts for the food and beverage department, monitoring expenses, and maximizing revenue opportunities.
    • Analyze financial performance reports and key performance indicators to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control and revenue enhancement.
    • Implement strategies to optimize profitability, such as pricing strategies, cost controls, and revenue management tactics.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of food and beverage outlets to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and adherence to quality standards.
    • Work closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with food safety standards and licensing requirements.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to food and beverage staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
    • Recruit, train, and mentor team members, promoting professional growth and development opportunities.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize and reward outstanding performance.

    This position has a salary compensation ranging from $76,000-$114,100.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)
    • Proven experience in food and beverage operations management, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Strong understanding of hospitality industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage financial resources, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant hospitality management software.
    • Certification in food safety and sanitation (e.g., ServSafe) is desirable.
