Hyatt Centric Austin-Downtown/Congress Street is Hiring a CULINARY SUPERVISOR Near Austin, TX

Summary

Located in Downtown Austin, the live music capital of the world and boasting a cutting-edge culinary scene, Hyatt Centric Austin on Congress Avenue is in search of an innovative and passionate Culinary Supervisor to support the Culinary operation of the hotel. Reporting to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, this role will support in the oversight of our three-meal period restaurant, lobby/terrace bar, colleague dining, and banquet/events culinary operations. This individual will work closely with Culinary leadership and the Food and Beverage department to ensure an authentic and seamless dining experience for our guests.

The ideal candidate for this position will embrace an agile mindset, thrive in an ever-changing and dynamic environment, and possess a colleague-forward leadership style.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division and all other hotel departments in absence of Executive Chef and Sous Chef
  • Represent the Culinary division in internal meetings
  • Supervise the preparation and cooking of menu items to the specifications of the Executive Chef
  • Rotate through various outlets to provide daily leadership support
  • Assist in developing and implementing creative menu items, ensuring compliance with company standards
  • Support of culinary colleagues’ scheduling, training, and coaching
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as needed
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
  • Assist in training new hires and contribute to ongoing colleague development
  • Support with the operation of the colleague dining facilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of culinary experience
  • Previous experience in culinary leadership/supervisory role strongly preferred
  • In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Experience with hotel culinary is a plus
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skillset
