Position Description

Engineering Managers are responsible for leading a team of engineers building HungerRush 360, our flagship cloud point of sale system. They should be able to scope, decompose, and organize projects for multiple teammates. As such, this will require the abilities to coordinate, delegate, and to generate time estimates with reasonable accuracy to help determine project timelines.

At times, this leader will need to focus on unblocking the team through both direct and indirect contribution. This level of leader should develop a broader understanding of the business as context for their teams work. They should strive to generate new ideas that could leverage the teams expertise to make an impact on the business.

This is a remote role.

Responsibilities

• Grow and lead a team of 8-10 engineers

• Hire high-quality engineering talent and develop your team

• Guide the development of engineers with mentoring, training, and performance management

• Build high scale systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and solving business needs

• Contribute to software development goals with an emphasis on architecture, design, and quality

• Collaborate with stakeholders including product managers and operations teams

• Responsible for continuous improvement in processes and standards

Education

• Computer Science or other related bachelors degree focused on software development

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience as a technical leader and manager for at least 2 years

• Experience in Distributed Systems and Software Engineering for 6 years

• Knowledge of .NET technologies including C# and MVC

• Experience working in a cloud environment, such as Azure

• Experience with SaaS, E-Commerce, and consumer facing web applications

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with Angular or other front-end frameworks

• Experience with Queues, Caches, CDNs, and other technologies used for building scalable web applications

• Experience with SQL Azure, Azure Service Bus Queues, and Redis Cache

• Experience with Azure DevOps
