PROGRAMS COACH POSITION SUMMARY:

The FOC Programs Coach works as a member of the Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) team. This position provides direct services to low-to-moderate income individuals who are enrolled as participants in the FOC Program.

The FOC Programs Coach is responsible for providing holistic one-on-one coaching utilizing an integrated approach. This position works closely with FOC participants in developing plans of action that are intended to assist the participants in reaching their long-term employment and financial goals. This position is also responsible for conducting benefits screening and assisting participants with finding ways to supplement their income, reduce their expenses, and/or provide access to referrals and resources needed to meet their goals. Also, the FOC Programs Coach will counsel clients interested in homeownership and entrepreneurship, helping them to financially prepare and connecting them with other assistance to overcome barriers. The FOC Programs Coach works closely with each of the HumanKind Greater Richmond Area ERC Programs to support clients as needed.

PROGRAMS COACH DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide participants with direct support, case management, and follow-up on program progress.

· Teach participants about the value of our services and engage the participant in a long-term coaching relationship.

· Conduct applicants screening, assist participant throughout the entire program process.

· Serve participants by advocating on their behalf to resolve personal obstacles affecting their ability to successful pursue academic or employment goals such as unstable home environments, unfavorable work schedules, finding childcare, transportation difficulties and obtaining financial assistance.

· Assist with personal care pantry, emergency use gift cards, and other projects designed to support program participants.

· Provide one-on-one coaching.

· Assist participants in resolving financial concerns and focus on financial health to shift the approach towards proactive financial management.

· Assist participants in improving their credit score, net worth, and net income.

· Work with participants to complete financial assessment.

o Complete Combine Financial Assessment (CFA) for all participants.

o Work with all participants to document a budget and provide strategies for improvements.

o Access and document the participant’s credit report/score and provide strategies for credit building.

o Document the participant's balance sheet and provide strategies for increasing net worth.

· Navigate and provide direct one-on-one employment services.

o Conduct employment skills and training needs assessments.

o Discuss an employment plan based on the participant's employment goals.

o Assist participants in their job search process, prepare personalized and professional resumes, and support interview and hiring process by conducting mock interviews.

o Monitor and document the status of each participant’s employment.

o Monitor job retention.

o Develop positive relationships with local agency partners, employers, and schools to help identify qualified candidates for positions and programs.

· Provide workshops and community education.

o Utilize partnerships to offer educational workshops to FOC participants.

o Lead workshops, work with Grantee community partners, identify guest speakers, and build a resource network to meet client needs – homeownership, digital literacy, financial literacy, employment and entrepreneurship.

o Certify and complete continuing education.

o Certify annually with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and provide onsite tax assistance to taxpayers through the VITA program.

o Conduct FOC orientation and enrollment sessions on an as needed basis.

· Maintain and track program files, participant data and other records.

o Utilize appropriate software to record participant and case information in a timely manner.

o Follow all established policies and procedures related to program services and case file management.

o Track stories and successes of program participants.

o Track referral and resources provided to program participants.

o Ensure compliance of procedural and operational guidelines within established timeframes.

· All other duties as assigned.

PROGRAMS COACH KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with standard office and clerical procedures, current office technology and computer program/applications including Microsoft Suite, Excel, Power-Point, and TEAMS.

· Effectively communicate written and verbally to a diverse audience, including supervisors.

· Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a team environment with a diverse group of coworkers and program staff.

· Work with and relate to a broad range of clientele.

· Ability to accurately complete application and forms, follow directions, interpret a variety of instructions and present information in one-on-one and group situations.

· Ability to respect and maintain client information and confidentiality.

· Ability to develop and build on connections within the community.

· Ability to be non-judgmental and be sensitive to cultural diversity.

· Ability to Job Coach – to include interview skills and resume preparation.

· Possess excellent interpersonal skills.

· Ability to self-direct, self-motivate, and demonstrate non-judgmental professional decision-making.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and various deadlines simultaneously and meet all deadlines.

· Willingness to flex time around the needs of the program.

· Ability to establish rapport with participants.

PROGRAM COACH MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree in a Human Service’s field and/or business management preferred or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

· Previous experience in workforce development and social services with target population, program administration with proven organizational skills, and an understanding of benefits programs rules and requirements.

· Experience with financial collections and general office administration and/or work with similar service program.

· Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

· Complete, pass and maintain all required background checks and drug test
