In the role of Chemist, you will be responsible for studying the chemical make-up of materials that are essential in our manufacturing business to ensure product efficiency and safety. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing test solutions, analyzing organic and inorganic compounds, and conducting quality control tests.

Coatings manufacturing

• Must have coating experience
• Prepare compounds, test solutions and reagents to conduct tests and experiments, then advising and coordinating on test procedures
• Determine chemical and physical properties, compositions, structures, relationships, and reactions of compounds
• Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods
• Confer with R&D to analyze, interpret, and develop tests
• Induce reactions to chemical substances with light, energy, heat and chemical catalysts
• Document findings in technical reports, prepare specifications and testing standards
• Evaluated and ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and procedures
• Maintain Laboratory instruments and troubleshoot malfunctions. Conduct quality control tests to ensure no compounds or equipment are contaminated.
• Order laboratory supplies and chemicals, keeping and eye on expiration dates
• Being aware of regulations regarding chemicals compounds
• Edit SDS’s and assist with hazardous waste management.
• Travel when needed – tradeshows, training, company meetings, etc.
• Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice
• Responsible for 2 Quality Control Employees Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree Chemistry, or related fields and a minimum of Ten (10) years job experience in a related chemical field – preferably within water-based solutions in the paint or coatings industry
