A top client is hiring a Group Controller for an opportunity in Madison, WI. 
Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Group Controller to oversee financial reporting for multiple subsidiary companies in southeast WI and MI. Your responsibilities will include managing accounting activities, reviewing payables and receivables, coordinating budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and GAAP. As a key member of our team, you will also lead the month-end closing process and present financial results to leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Controller and their team.
• Lead month-end closing for all subsidiaries and present results to Business Unit leadership.
• Serve as a strategic partner to founders and Group General Manager.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP.
• Analyze inventory levels, job-level revenue, and costs for profitability.
• Perform fixed asset accounting and review bank reconciliations.
• Lead onsite annual audit field work and resolve audit requests.
• Utilize accounting software (Sage Intacct) and support system migrations.
• Demonstrate expertise in Excel and supervise a team with a player/coach mentality.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Timeliness and accuracy of reporting.
• Creation of accurate financial reporting tools.
• Cultivation of interpersonal relationships and strong communication across all levels.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Certified Public Accountant designation required.
• 6 years of related experience, including 3 years in a management position.
• Independent decision-maker with self-motivation and organizational skills.
• Proficient in reviewing and ensuring accuracy of work.
