Summary About the Position : This position is located with the US Army Personnel Operations Group G-1, Personnel Suitability Division, Child Services Suitability Cell, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate suitability, fitness, and credentialing adjudication for the total Army workforce.

Develop and maintain close liaison and coordination with all participating agencies / organizations involved in suitability, fitness, and credentialing background investigations / checks.

Make recommendations on how many resources should be allocated to projects when man-years and significant budgetary considerations are involved.

Provide oversight of all facets of suitability, fitness and credentialing adjudication functions that fall under the purview of the Army.

Observe workers' performance and periodically evaluates employee performance, and / or reviews evaluations made by subordinate supervisors.

• evaluating policy administration and control of a Personnel Suitability Program, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations;
• implementing new policies and procedures, evaluating budgets, and presenting proposed courses of action to senior officials;

advising on administrative and personnel management functions related to the accomplishment of the assigned mission, planning organizational structure and staffing needs.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade / level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement : Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
