Position Summary:
The Trailer Shop Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the trailer repair workshop. This manager plans, organizes, staffs, directs, and controls all office and overall workshop activities. The motivation of employees to maintain trailers to a high standard of repair are key responsibility. The Workshop Manager reports to and assists the Workshop Manager in establishing trailer shop performance objectives and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for trailer shop activities in order to extract maximum performance and improve KPIs.
Monitor and evaluate parts inventory, and make decisions in regard to stock with the help of a subordinate Inventory Specialist.
Organize, inspect, repair, and replenish trailer shop items (both materials and tooling).
Maintain appropriate staffing at all times and provide leadership regarding quality on the job site.
Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reports complete with analysis and direction.
Collaborate with other managers, to ensure that workflows proceed timely between departments.
Negotiate with vendors for purchasing to support operations.
Maintain relationships with internal and external customers by providing flawless service and communication.
Provides guidance and training to the staff to assist in their development.
Ensure quality standards are maintained in order to provide zero defects to customers.
Other job duties, as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
Degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Must have two years of Management experience in a logistics environment - preferably within trailer maintenance companies.
Develop effective relationships and provide leadership.
